Frequently asked questions
What is the safest crib bedding for a baby?
The safest crib bedding is a fitted sheet that fits snugly on the mattress. Avoid loose blankets, pillows, or bumpers to reduce suffocation risk. For warmth, consider a wearable blanket or sleep sack.
Are monkey-themed crib sets machine washable?
Most monkey crib bedding sets are machine washable, but always check the care label. Use cold water and gentle cycles to preserve colors and prevent shrinkage.
What certifications should I look for in baby bedding?
Look for OEKO-TEX or GOTS certifications to ensure fabrics are free from harmful chemicals. CertiPUR-US is relevant for foam components but less common in bedding.
How often should I wash crib bedding?
Wash sheets weekly or more if soiled. Quilts and blankets can be washed monthly unless stained. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Can I use a quilt in the crib for a newborn?
It is recommended to avoid loose bedding for infants under 12 months. Use a fitted sheet alone; consider a sleep sack for warmth to reduce SIDS risk.
