Frequently asked questions
What should I look for in space themed nursery bedding?
Look for safety certifications like OEKO-TEX Standard 100 or GREENGUARD Gold. Ensure materials are breathable and machine washable. Check that fitted sheets have elastic all around for a snug fit.
Is space themed bedding safe for newborns?
Yes, but avoid pillows, quilts, or soft bedding in the crib until your baby is at least 12 months old. Use only a fitted sheet and consider a sleep sack for warmth.
How many pieces do I need in a space bedding set?
A basic set includes a fitted sheet and a crib skirt or bumper (though bumpers are not recommended). Full sets often add a quilt and decorative pillow, which are for display only in the early months.
Can I wash space themed crib bedding?
Most sets are machine washable. Use cold water and gentle cycle, then tumble dry low. Avoid bleach to preserve colors. Some quilts may need spot cleaning.
What are the most popular space themes?
Popular themes include rockets, astronauts, planets, stars, and galaxies. Many parents prefer gender-neutral designs like dark blue with gold stars or pastel space scenes.
